As part of Disability Action Week, last Thursday (18th September) a large group from FlexiChoice travelled to the Daintree to experience the wonders of wildlife on the Daintree River. At the Daintree River Cruise Centre, situated on the banks of the Daintree River, we met up with our friends from the Mossman Flexi Respite Centre. After morning tea, the two groups enjoyed activities on the lawn and 'got up close and personal' with a baby crocodile.
Following a picnic lunch we set off on our river adventure. The weather was perfect ... sunny and a blue cloudless sky. The boats were comfortable and quiet, specifically designed for the river conditions and viewing wildlife with a minimum of noise.
We were particularly lucky to view not one, but several estuarine crocodiles along the banks of the river, however, the highlight of the cruise was definitely seeing the big 4 metre long alpha male croc known as 'Scar Face', swimming near our boat.
On Friday evening the 5th September, FlexiChoice, in conjunction with Tableland Community Link. co-hosted a Masquerade Disco Dance.

After a BBQ dinner it was time for some movin' and groovin'. The lighting effects and the great music enticed guests to have some fun on the dance floor, where we saw some pretty awesome dance moves. Prizes were later awarded for the best mask creations.
A big Thank You to Cody Roberts for donating his time and sound equipment to be our DJ for the evening.
