Deb grew up in Cairns and moved to Mareeba approximately 30 years ago. Her time in Mareeba is busily spent as an owner/operator of a commercial mango farm where she is heavily involved administratively, which includes quality insurance. She has a range of experience in pharmacy, banking and first aid training. She was a board member of FNQ Growers, a leading advocacy group for fruit and vegetable growers across Far North Queensland. Deb holds FlexiChoice close to her heart as she has seen the positive impact we have made to family member’s life.

Russell has lived in Mareeba for approximately 8 years. With a keen interest in art, he studied visual arts at TAFE and is a member of the Mareeba Art Society. His passion and dedication has led to him volunteering at our weekly art group, assisting with the skill development of our participants. This contributed to a very successful art exhibition held in November 2019. With the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Russell developed a further interest in the organisation, leading him to the position of Vice President.

Franca is a well known Mareeba local helping run the family owned farm along side her husband and father in law and is a proud mother of two beautiful teenage kids. Franca was approached by our President Debbie to join the Board as the Secretary back in July 2021. She was unfamilar with FlexiChoice prior to this however has since learnt a lot about the great support and care given to those in our community who rely on FlexiChoice, she feels proud to be apart of such a great organisation.

Evan McGrath OAM is a true Mareeba local, educated at the State Primary and High Schools. He is involved in primary production: beef cattle and sugar cane.

Evan has a strong sense of community, evidenced by his long involvement in sporting and other organisations and being honored with nine life memberships.

Evan has wide-ranging experience in organizing events eg. Mareeba State School Centenary and the Great Wheelbarrow Race. He has chaired boards and presided over many committees, including multiple directorships, including President, Secretary and Treasurer of Mareeba Rotary Club.  He was awarded a prestigious Paul Harris Sapphire Pin for his services to Rotary.

After six elections, Evan served twenty years in local government, ten of those as Deputy Mayor.

He was awarded an Order of Australia medal for his years of service and commitment.

Joe Moro was born in Mareeba into a farming background. He is a mango farmer and is also involved in a motor mechanic business in town. Joe’s position as President of Mareeba District Fruit and Vegetable Growers Assn since 1995, has led to his long involvement in various community groups and organisations, as well as a wide range of community economic development and social issues. A few of the organisations Joe is currently involved with: President of Mareeba Chamber of Commerce, Past President Mareeba Rotary and current Board member, and Deputy Chair Tablelands Futures Corporation.  Joe has represented the Mareeba area on a local, state and national basis and sees organisations such as FlexiChoice as an important and integral part of his community and hopes that he can lend his voice and talents to FlexiChoice.
